Here is some information about planes and pics.

This page is being created so don´t think you´re going to find a big page with many pics and planes. For now , I have only information about SR-71S and some pics.

We see here one of the most fabulous planes ever created the sr-71s.The sr-71 was created in a long set of experiments to choose a plane which would be the suitable sucessor for the U-2 plane .And it was to the lockheed war-aircraft company which developed it .

Lockheed followed the u-2 plane with an even more extraordinary family , popularly known as the blackbirds. These were designed to fly not only very high but also very fast, and their entire design meant breaking new ground in structure , materials , engines systems and even the ways missions were organized. The chief material selected was a titanium b-120 alloy , which at first was found almost impossible to cut , shape , or drill .Special fuel was developed , called JP-7 , which in turn requi red special KC-135Q tankers of the 100th Air refuelling wing.Even the hidraulic fluid had to be specially created : one fluid worked beatifully -except that if it was allowed to cool to room temperature it turned into a white powder! It i s difficult to believe that the first of these amazing aircraft , an A-12 , first flew as long ago as April 26 , 1962 .It was followed by an interceptor version, the YF-12ª, whose radars an missiles stilldo not have an equal. Finally came the real pro d uction airplane , the giant SR_71 reconnaissance aircraft .One of them after 10 years of operastional flying , was taken without modification and used to set a world speed record of 2,193 mph .Others, on the same ocassion , were used to set a speed r ecord around a 1000 km circuit and for a sustained altitude,.Sadly , for financial reasons, the SR-71s were removed from the active USAF inventory in 1989.
